Springs and Metal Parts from a Single Piece — How Prototype Manufacturing Works

Developers, design engineers and machine repair companies often need just one spring — for testing, function verification, or to replace a part that is no longer manufactured. Here's how to place such an order, what the spring is made from, and how long production takes.

Why We Manufacture Even a Single Piece

We set no minimum order quantity for custom spring manufacturing. We produce from a single piece — typically for three situations: product development and testing, where an engineer needs a functional prototype before launching serial production; machine repair, where a discontinued or out-of-stock spring needs replacing; and concept verification before ordering a larger batch. A single piece is produced on the same CNC bending automats used for serial production, so the prototype matches what would be produced in series.

Machine Repair

Replacement for discontinued or out-of-stock parts

Concept Verification

Verify function with a prototype before ordering in volume

What We Need to Start Production

A drawing in PDF, DXF or STEP format is sufficient. If you don't have a drawing, a photo of the sample with dimensions works too — outer diameter, wire diameter, length and number of coils for springs, or a dimensioned sketch for formed parts. If you're unsure of the exact specification, we provide free, non-binding technical consultation.

Materials Used for Prototypes

We standardly use spring steel per EN 10270-1 and EN 10270-3, and stainless steel 1.4310 and 1.4568. For special conditions — corrosive environments, high temperatures, or electrical conductivity requirements — we also offer bronze, brass or Inconel. We recommend the appropriate material based on the operating conditions the spring or part will face.

MaterialStandard / GradeTypical Use

Stainless steel1.4310, 1.4568Corrosive environments, food industry
BronzeCuSn8PElectrical conductivity, sliding surfaces
BrassCuZn36Decorative parts, mild corrosion
Inconel2.4856 (IN 625)High temperatures, aggressive media

How Long Prototype Production Takes

After receiving your documents, we respond within 24 hours with a price quote, delivery date, and material recommendation. The prototype itself is typically delivered within 3–5 business days of order confirmation; express deadlines can be arranged individually. Every piece undergoes dimensional and functional inspection under our ISO 9001 certified quality system.
